Mold drives the Belchers over to Mort's mortuary for the weekend when Hugo informs them that the green mold in Bob's restaurant cannot just be bleached. Linda hopes that this stay will be their honeymoon so they can have some special intimacy time with one another, but Bob shows little to no interest. He plans to use the free weekend to work on his replica model bus from the movie Speed. Meanwhile the kids find out about Mort looking for a date with a mortician on a dating website, so they set him up. Tina is set to be the babysitter, and Louise is going to use this golden opportunity to frighten Gene and Tina.
Linda is still trying to use the weekend as an opportunity for her and Bob to get romantically intimate again, so they have a double date with Mort and Samantha, the mortician from the dating site, at Jimmy Pesto's Pizzeria. Bob's not into it though, and after a few drinks he decides to go back to the funeral home to rest. While Louise is pulling pranks on the kids, Bob stumbles onto an empty coffin to nap in. The kids mistake the coffin for being haunted. Unaware that their dad is inside, they attempt to cremate the coffin, with Bob yelling to let him out all the while.
In the end, they finally realize and get him out, while Mort and Samantha arrive back at his place to make sweet, sweet love only to find all of this insanity going on. Bob tells them to stay together, as he had an epiphany while on the verge of death in the coffin. He goes back to Jimmy Pesto's without the lazy pants, which Linda hated, or any pants at all, and makes it a special night for her.
