• Table read date: June 24, 2016.
  • The title and script cover for this episode obviously references the 1991 movie Thelma & Louise, starring Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as Thelma and Louise respectively. The plot also contains elements from the movie, including Linda and Louise thinking about jumping over the pier like how Thelma and Louise drove over the cliff at the movie's climax.
  • The US copyright catalog spells this episode's title with the word 'and' instead of an ampersand.[1]
  • This episode features the first appearance of Phillip Frond's mother, she was first mentioned in "Carpe Museum" where Pocket Sized Rudy, who makes a second appearance in this episode, made his first appearance.
  • Loren Bouchard showed a small portion of an earlier draft of the script for this episode in response to fan's question on Twitter on May 30, 2016, over whether Pocket Sized Rudy would be heard from again.[2]
  • Colleen Caviello, from "Spaghetti Western and Meatballs" reappears briefly during the flashback to the last time Linda led the bake sale. Linda reveals that Colleen sabotaged the bake sale by telling everyone to bring banana bread, making Linda look like an idiot.
  • The No Pants Pulled Off Behinds program is a reference to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
  • Ms. Schnur is shown searching Yahoogle for celebrities without makeup. Yahoogle was first mentioned in "The Unnatural" and was used by Louise to look-up Boo Boo in "Bye Bye Boo Boo."
  • Ms. Schnur references The Shawshank Redemption saying that she is like the guard in the film and says that she hasn't seen all the film. Louise escapes out the window bypassing Ms. Schnur like how Andy Dufresne bypasses the guard when escaping in said movie.
  • Mr. Frond following Louise after spotting her absent from school is similar to Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  • The Hot Dog vendor's cart at Wonder Wharf is simply named Hot Dog Guy.
  • Linda and Louise reference Blue October's song, "Into the Ocean", by Louise saying "...should we just jump into the ocean?" followed by Linda saying "And end it all? Maybe.", then Louise saying "No! Swim to shore."
  • The End Credits Sequence references Dirty Dancing. Bob and Teddy sing "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" and perform the famous lift from the movie's climax.
  • This is the first episode where Gene enters on screen from the left rather than the right during the end credits.
  • A total of 1.59 million households watched this episode.[3]
  • Louise getting suspended for breaking school rules even though she was standing up to a bully similar to Peggy Hill being suspended for spanking Straut Dooley in “To Spank, with Love” and Bobby Hill getting suspended for kicking the groins of bullies in “Bobby Goes Nuts”.

  • When the first female cyclist hands the menu back to Bob it briefly overlaps the ketchup and mustard bottles in the foreground.
