Hey! My first turf war!
- Mickey

Mickey is a former criminal who is a family friend of the Belchers. He is currently a carnie at Wonder Wharf and operates some rides. However, Mickey has a lasting obsession with wanting to rob banks, notably First Oceanside Savings Bank, and the reason he's familiar with the Belchers is because he tried robbing a bank.[1] He makes his first appearance in "Bob Day Afternoon."

He is voiced by Bill Hader, but he is voiced by John Kubin in "Beach, Please" and The Bob's Burgers Movie.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Mickey has messy short red-brown hair, a thin mustache and a small goatee. His usual outfit consists of a gray t-shirt and loose-fitting jeans. He is very lanky and pale.

Personality[]

Mickey is generally a kind, if misled individual. He claims to have spent his childhood breaking windows, doing drugs, setting fire to things and even "throwing rats down a river in a bottle," but does not exhibit this kind of violence as an adult, as despite his criminal lifestyle he has yet to harm anyone else physically (or even really show the intent to, as his threats were all purposefully empty) and just seems to care about money. As the Belchers know him, he is extremely sensitive, but otherwise mild-mannered.

Mickey's hero is Superman, despite his criminal history. He has a good sense of humor and enjoys jokes; he also loves Bob's Burgers and seems to have a soft spot for children and animals.

Although he attempts to "go straight," Mickey is reluctant to give up his lawless lifestyle. He attempts to tunnel through the Belcher's basement in "Bob Fires the Kids," lends his criminal contacts to the Belcher children in "Ambergris" and lets Gene and Louise (who is too short) onto the Screamicane at Mr. Fischoeder's behest in "Wharf Horse."

He’s overall treated as a good friend of the family by the Belchers, even if there are awkward moments between them and his criminal ways have not been fully snuffed out.

The Belchers[]

Mickey first met the Belchers after he held the bank hostage in "Bob Day Afternoon", taking Bob hostage after a failed attempt by Sergeant Bosco to lure him out. Louise takes an interest in him and decides to interview him for a project, which Mickey enthusiastically responds to, refusing to talk to anyone else besides Louise during the negotiations. Bob later convinces him to turn himself in to the police after it becomes clear Mickey has no idea what he's doing. While in prison, he genuinely asks how Louise's project went.

The Belchers seem to usually like Mickey, hiring him to help out at the restaurant after being released from prison ("Bob Fires the Kids") and inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner at least once ("Dawn of the Peck"). Mickey regularly says hello to the children whenever he encounters them, helping them out when they ask him. Despite that, the Belchers will express disappointment in him when he regresses to his criminal ways, such as Bob being forced to fire him when he realizes Mickey accepted a job at the restaurant in an attempt to build a tunnel leading into the bank.
