“All right, listen. You're my children, and I love you. But you're all terrible at what you do here, and I feel like I should tell you I'd fire all of you if I could.”
It's Bob's Burgers grand re-re-re opening, but the festivities are delayed by the health inspector. Louise, wanting to "up the ante" at show & tell, tells the class her dad, Bob, uses human remains in the burgers at Bob’s Burgers (Bob’s restaurant) and starts a rumor that goes around the school.
Plot[]
Bob re-re-re-opens the restaurant, after a seres of disasters, for Labor Day weekend, which he tries to point out to his family is the biggest weekend of the year fro them, while Linda keeps trying to drop hints on something else that day. Bob eventually realizes to his horror that he forgot their anniversary. While Bob and Linda grind up meat for burgers in the basement, Hugo, the health inspector, visits the restaurant along with Ron after seeing Gene spilling burger samples on the ground and re-serving them. He writes up and fills out his violations notebook, before telling Bob that he suspects them of serving human flesh to the customers (due to Louise making up the rumor in her class for show and tell). Soon, it is revealed that Linda was once engaged to Hugo, while also saying the health inspector is a better kisser, making Bob jealous. The new sign setup by Hugo throws customers away. In spite of Bob's claims that the rumor is false, the situation gets even worse when one of Gene's antics ends with a body from the crematorium turning up at the restaurant. Bob finally decides to stand up against the crowds outside, and while he initially appears to be succeeding, he ends up coming off as a supporter of cannibalism.
As the public continue to berate him, Bob sobs to Linda that he's a failure and she would have been better off had she stayed with Hugo, who she earlier admitted was a better kisser than Bob. However, Linda tells Bob that she left with Bob because he had a dream for the future, whereas Hugo was nothing but a lonely man who never had anything going for him. Louise also apologizes for making up the rumor. Meanwhile, Ron convinces Hugo to test the burger meat, as their van has the equipment to do so without waiting for the lab to open after the holiday.
Bob is convinced to keep going, only to be pranked by the kids who lock the front door. Later on, a bus of exotic eaters are attracted to Bob's Burgers after hearing about the human flesh incident, and Bob decides to charge $50 for each burger. Ron, Hugo's assistant, tells Bob that they ran the tests and found no human flesh, although Bob attempts to shoo Ron away and let the customers eat. In the end, Bob has a successful amount of money and takes his family to Wonder Wharf, where eh and Linda kiss on the Ferris wheel (to the disgust of their kids).
